The word “stråla” has different meanings. In English, it implies “strength”, “balance”, and “awareness”. In Swedish, stråla means “to radiate light”. For me it’s the perfect definition; while we bring our inner sun to shine, we don’t just make ourselves happy but also those around us!

Stråla Yoga was founded be the two Americans Tara Stiles and Mike Taylor. Stråla is a unique, modern yoga style that combines movements from Yoga, Tai Chi, and Qigong. It is a path to harmonize our mind-body system all without pressure of doing something right or wrong. More importantly, the pleasure of natural movements is focus.

Create harmony in your mind and body

Stråla Yoga is an invitation to reconnect with ourselves and our individual body feeling, free of the “no pain, no gain” principle. We aren’t looking for static endpoints; we rather learn to listen to our body and embark on a playful journey to new places, moving softly and flowing. By using our breath as the compass we set course to effortlessness.

Music in the background invites us to create our individual symphony of joy, naturalness, and relaxation in unison with our body and mind. After a Stråla Yoga class, we feel invigorated, balanced and rejuvenated. Returning back to our everyday life with a smile on our face feels good for us and everyone around us!

“Make yourself so happy that when others look at you, they become happy too.”
– Yogi Bhajan
